The George Washington University (GW) is committed to promoting the highest standards of ethical research and scholarly conduct while pursuing its research mission. Anyone at GW that is involved in conducting or supporting research shares the responsibility for achieving this goal. The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) partners with members of the research community to ensure that our research programs comply with all federal, state and local regulations and university policies.
Responsible Conduct of Research
GW encourages all of its faculty and students to be familiar with professional and ethical standards in academic research in general as well as in their chosen fields. Ongoing Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training is a critical part of these efforts. RCR training provides researchers with the tools they need to make ethical decisions and is also required by many federal research sponsors.
Supporting Clinical and Translational Research
Regulatory knowledge is key to advancing research that will discover cutting-edge treatments. The Office of Research Integrity collaborates with the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Children’s National (CTSI-CN) to provide proactive, innovative regulatory and research ethics education and support services to assure that research meets the highest standards of ethical conduct and regulatory compliance.
